First off, hope you are all well.
Things that have happened so far:
4317 orders of Dragon Eye Dice have been fulfilled & 327 orders have been made manually on Shopify for replacement dice, this is continuing ...
So what is happening now?
º A count of what’s left that isn’t yellowed or at a quick glance, out of alignment, is happening in Oregon right now.
º Once that count is complete, all orders that match what is left will then have their labels printed and those dice will be sent. You will see your Backer Kit change under the tab ‘shipping’ and you will see the tracking link. It is not emailed to you. *In some cases, a label could be printed and then your SKU(s) might not be available. This is unusual but can happen.
º If you bought your dice on pre-order or from us at GenCon you will receive a tracking link by email from Shopify
º Where the order contains a White dragon or Goddess dragon that is yellow, we are likely to part fulfil your order and you will be notified if this happens. THEN any dice that are still owed to you will be sent from Asia.
º For those of you who cannot be fulfilled from Oregon, you will receive your entire order from Asia. We apologise that those of you who are left are most likely to have spent the most amount of money. We desperately wanted to get you your dice first but it was decided that in order to reduce the amount of people waiting (…the rage) we began with fulfilling the smallest orders first. The upside of this it that ALL your dice should be perfect and it’ll ultimately be worth the wait
º The beads that have been ordered are in the works and we will see Goddess, White & Black Dragon dice being made first. This is due to the high number of yellowed dice that were dismissed by the ROW / QC in Seattle / the warehouse in Oregon / a few of you in the US who still received these *We are off to PAX East in March and we are planning to take these tinted dice to sell at a discount. This is because we desperately need cash and alone, without the reference of a clear goddess dice, to some gamers think they are still cool. So there is no misunderstanding or backlash we are ONLY selling ‘tinted dice’ and NOT your dice. We will of course also be selling Angels & Demons. The factory did an excellent job with these as they made them last, so we are confident that they know how to complete this debacle.
º A few of you are worried that we are replacing dice first. We aren’t replacing any yet (see next section for this explanation)
NOTE: It is about to be Chinese New Year. It officially it starts on the 10th Feb and runs until 24th Feb BUT factory workers get more time off and there is a wind down / wind up period so we consider it approx a month whereby nothing really happens. We are going to use this time to make the remaining replacement orders and think of new ideas to release once you all have your dice.
Of the 327 orders that have been made manually on Shopify for replacement dice, it began with all the ROW & google form uploads, whilst cross referencing those with the portal. This is a slow going process and thank you all for your patience. Once the remaining ROW replacement orders are made, we will move swiftly onto to everyone who has uploaded content or comments onto the portal. Once your order is made, at the end of the day (ET), you will get an email telling you to ignore the shipping quantity that has been added. This figure is NOT owed by you but is so we can tally up what it’s going to cost Spidermind Games to reship these dice, and pass that figure onto the manufacturing partners

Update on dice tranches etc

Hope you are all well.
Regarding dice replacements: We have commenced with the laborious task of making you all new Shopify orders. You will see an order come through from Shopify and an email basically saying what is in this update. *If you have only reported an off centre agate in the free goddess, that may not get replaced. *We are starting this process with the original google form from the ROW, as they have waited the longest. We really appreciate the uploads that you have all taken the time to do on both the google form and the portal. As a reminder the portal is here. As someone wrongly said on Facebook, no-one is being charged for shipping. The shipping total is being left on the order so that we can let the manufacturing partners know how much it is costing us to re-send the dice. This is explained clearly in the email that you will get from Jo once she has made your new order. See below for timings and bear in mind that original orders are being fulfilled first
Regarding getting your original order: Fulfilment from the US warehouse begun with people closest to Portland and now it’s being done by the SKUs that the warehouse have available. We are trying to ensure that people receive their whole order and not in batches (due to the logistical nightmare that would cause). As soon as the warehouse are close to running out of SKUs, we will post an update on what they have left / haven’t got and then you will know if you are bing fulfilled from the US or in the next tranche. *Those of you with less SKUs in your order are more likely to be fufilled now rather than those of you with the whole set. We apologise for this but as stated above, we want to complete full orders.
For the next tranche: The factory have ordered the agates and as soon as they arrive / they begin printing the eyes, we will let you know. Our plan is to put as much pressure on them as possible to keep us posted, so we can all see there is no lull in the momentum. We know they are capable of making amazing dice because we’ve seen them, so if you do have to wait that should mean better dice with less defaults. Ideally none!!
A few people have mentioned the hand placed vs technology… the agates are hand placed into the device that places the agate in the centre of the mould. Where the iris might be slightly off, it's due to this hand placing part BUT the agate should always be dead centre, which as we know hasn’t always been the case. This has all been worked out and we’ve seen an almost 100% success rate with the Angels & Demons.
The next tranche(s) will most likely be fulfilled from Asia to speed things up but again, we’ll let you all know as soon as a small batch of dice are ready. We are not planning on waiting for loads to be made in order to continue with fulfillment, it will begin as soon as an amount of dice are ready, that can be sent to the 3PL.
We know this is vague but we cannot say when anyone will definitively get their dice but our commitment remains the same, we will get you all your dice / replacements.
Hope this helps for now and please feel free to not reply, there are about 600 of you who need new orders made and the same person is dealing with all the emails … the less messages, the quicker we can work and get this resolved. Thanks to the few of you who have tried out the portal and seeing that it works well, here is the link for anyone who would like to report an issue with their dice. The system is designed to keep metrics on each issue to tally up which dice need replacing, which we ourselves will keep an eye on and report to the manufacturing partners, who also have direct access to this portal. It is aimed to be quick but it does ask for details as without them we cannot run a detailed report.
*ROW you will all be receiving an email as we appreciate you may miss this update. This is a manual process and will commence today, you will all get an email from Jo over the next few days.
Fulfilment has begun with people closest to Portland and who are on Backer Kit. This is to be able to get as many people their dice quickly from when their label is raised, so then we can start to get feedback on the dice. As the warehouse continues to send out parcels, please use the portal to report an incorrect item arriving rather than posting it on Facebook or Kickstarter. The warehouse very rarely make mistakes but it does happen in fulfillment all over the world. We will correct this with the warehouse and ensure you get the correct item sent and someone will be in touch with you directly about this. If you haven’t had a tracking number yet or you cannot see one on Backer Kit (in your profile there is a tab called ‘shipping’), your dice will be sent in the next batch. We apologise that you are having to wait but we simply don’t have enough dice to send out at the moment. Please continue reading to see what our next steps are…
To remind you all of what happened: the factory were tasked with sending a container of dice to the US and prior to that, syphoning off all the orders for the ROW. They did that but what we didn’t know until you all started getting your dice, is that they added in dice from all the generations and not just the final production run. Meaning, issues have arisen and some of you got dice that in no world would we have signed off on. As a result, a QC company in the US was tasked with checking over the dice from the container and removing all the dice that weren’t up to par. Again, this isn’t something we personally could oversee as none of us live anywhere near Seattle. The QC company were briefed by the manufacturing partners and seemingly the brief has led to them passing some dice through that they deemed worthy of being delivered. This is what the portal is for and we will action your complaints by issuing replacements. It will take more time and you will all have your thoughts about it, but one thing that has remained constant is that we are fixing the issue. If we don’t talk to you as often as you would like, it is because we are busting our guts to get this right, whilst also hanging on by a shoe string as Spidermind Games is a tiny business that has suffered greatly due to this debacle. Kickstarter is a platform where new concepts are launched & not all projects go smoothly from the get go unfortunately, but we are not giving up.
Here is where we ask for a favour. When the Kickstarter production run of the dice was completed (or so we thought), we commissioned the factory to make the first batch of our Dice Collector’s Club limited edition dice, Angels & Demons. These are ready. They are amazing and we need to sell them. We understand that a small number of you would love to shut Spidermind Games down, a) that is not an OK thought to have & b) it will equal none of you getting your replacements. We have to pay the factory for the replacements. This might sound crazy but because we are not Target, we have no leverage with these people and so they have asked that we put in an order for more dice, in order for them to make the replacements. We aren’t getting charged for the replacements per se, but we have to hand over money all the same. So, please can you bear with us whilst we sell the Angels & Demons to get this all moving swiftly & smoothly.
Once all the information has been collected on the new portal, the factory will have the number of replacements they need to produce and we will know where they need to be sent. Due to a large interest from retail & wholesale in the dice, it was always our intention to order more dice after fulfillment to the backers and pre-orders. Your replacements will be added to this order. It is our plan to work with the factory to take delivery of batches of dice as they are produced and fulfil them from Asia, directly to backers. More updates will follow on the progress made.
For those of you who have contacted us to say you love your dice, we are very happy to hear that. For those of you who have issues, we are sorry you are having to do extra work on the portal but this is the best way to get this rectified. As we have said above we are fixing it, we know the factory can make great dice and we ask for your patience and understanding.

As some of you are aware, the first batch of dice have been posted out. For those of you who have messaged to say that you love your dice, thanks for that feedback and those of you who have issues, a) we’re very sorry and b) we are working on a portal to report your issues on.
We are testing this new portal with the 23 people who have emailed with issues and then we'll add it on here once we know it's working properly.
About 1000 parcels have been shipped and more are going out this week. The next update will contain more statistics and hopefully timings

North American Fulfilment Started

Hi Folks, great news, the North American fulfilment of the Dragon Eye Dice has begun. As some of you may have seen, the first batch of you have had their addresses locked and your parcels are on their way.
Boxes Leaving Portland
The fulfilment will be spread over three tranches, with the second and third being made up of a mix of current stock and replacements being manufactured in China. This covers pledges that include sets we do not have in Portland. Timings for the second and third tranches being sent out depends on how quickly the new replacements are ready at the factory. It is then our plan, to not only send out the rest of the world replacements from Asia, but also some North American backers where it is quicker to do so. If you haven’t had an email from Backer Kit, to the address you used to sign up for the campaign, do not worry as this means you are either in tranches two or three, or your email has gone into junk or has been filtered.
As we mentioned in previous updates, just under 40% of the overall delivery to Seattle was then rejected by our independent QC inspectors. This means that not all North American backers are able to be fulfilled in this first tranche or from our stock in the US. Rather than make replacements and then ship them over to the US, we will send these by airfreight directly to backers from Asia. The reason we cannot be specific yet as to who will get what and when, is we don’t know in what order the dice will be made in (i.e. what colour and cut will be ready first).
What we do know is that the factory has started making replacements, everyone who is waiting for their dice will be getting theirs, whether it be your first pledge or a replacement. We have seen some phenomenal samples of other variations of the dice and are certain the factory have finally got it right.
Now that fulfilment to North America has begun, we are excited to finally be able to release other projects that have been on hold during the production of the Dragon Eye Dice. Many of you have already signed up for the Dice Collectors Club and we will be releasing our first limited edition shortly. These are dice that were made alongside the final batch of Dragon Eye Dice (before we knew about the faulty dice) and so are already completed. They are in our warehouse and ready for dispatch.
We will also be running a phenomenal sale of our best-selling Level Up, prior to launching a new campaign early next year. So if you are looking for a great value Level Up before the holidays, we will be setting the new price live this weekend. For anyone waiting for the new Level Up-Evolved, that will be released early next year, all the improvements will be cross compatible with the original design.
